1 liter of water, for the separation technique which we will tell you about in a moment;
1 heat-resistant bowl, to collect the infused butter;
1 saucepan;
1 sieve or cheesecloth to filter plant residues and keep only the clarified butter;
1 airtight container to store your CBD butter and preserve its relaxing and aromatic properties.
CBD butter: let’s get to the preparation!
We will first activate the good cannabinoids from the hemp plant.
So start by grinding your CBD flowers or your trim until you obtain a fine consistency to facilitate assimilation. Goal : increase the contact surface with heat for optimal activation of CBD.
Then spread your crushed mixture on a baking tray covered with parchment paper to prevent the CBD flowers from sticking. Bake at 110° C for around 40 minutes. Be sure to stir the mixture regularly to ensure even decarboxylation.
Please note : too high heat could degrade CBD and other useful cannabinoids. Do not exceed 110° C.
In your saucepan, bring the liter of water to the boil and then place the heat-resistant bowl on top, without it touching the water. Add the unsalted butter or coconut oil to the bowl and let it melt gently before incorporating the crushed CBD flowers.
Chef's tip: maintain a low and constant temperature to avoid degrading cannabinoids and terpenes.
After let it infuse for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally, use a sieve or cheesecloth to filter the mixture and separate the infused butter from the remaining butter. plants. Squeeze well to extract as much liquid as possible.
Then pour the filtered butter into a closed container and let it cool to room temperature before placing it in the refrigerator. The CBD butter will solidify and be ready to use in your favorite recipes.
The chef's tip : for a optimal conservation, note the preparation date on the container. CBD butter can be kept for several weeks in the refrigerator and even longer in the freezer.
