Ingredients for your chocolate and CBD pains (10 units)
For this simple and inexpensive recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
- 500 g of puff pastry;
- 100 g of quality dark chocolate, cut into sticks;
- 30 ml of quality CBD oil. To maximize the virtues of CBD, opt for full spectrum hemp oil;
- 1 beaten egg to brown the dough;
- A pinch of icing sugar.
Chocolate and CBD breads: let’s get ready!
Start by gently rolling out your puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. For perfect puff pastry, make sure the dough is cold but not too hard to handle. If you are using homemade puff pastry or purchased in a block, roll it out into a rectangle about 4mm thick. The key to good lamination is maintaining a uniform thickness!
Gently integrate the chocolate sticks into the edge of the dough, spacing each portion equally. Add a few drops of CBD oil on top of the chocolate to infuse each loaf with the calming effects of legal hemp.
Then, carefully wrap the dough around the chocolate to form a tight roll. Seal the edges with a little water to prevent the chocolate from escaping during cooking. Before baking, brush each loaf with beaten egg to obtain a beautiful golden color and a shiny surface. This is the secret to a crispy crust that remains easy to chew.
The chef’s tip For a finish worthy of a pastry chef, make light diagonal incisions on the top of each loaf before browning them. This will allow the steam to escape and the bread to spread evenly. |
Preheat your oven to 200° C and bake your pain au chocolat for 15 to 20 minutes until they are puffy and golden brown.
Remove from the oven, let the chocolate and CBD breads cool on a rack for a few minutes to fully appreciate their flaky texture and melting center. The contrast between hot and cold will intensify the flavors and aromas. Bon appetit!
