The ingredients for your CBD onion soup gratin (for 4 people)
Caramelized onions, comforting broth, au gratin cheese, CBD… only good things in this soup! Here are the ingredients you will need:
- 5 large onions, finely sliced;
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil;
- 1.2 liters of beef or vegetable broth;
- 2 tablespoons of flour;
- 20 to 30 ml of quality CBD oil;
- 4 slices of country bread;
- 100 g grated Gruyere cheese;
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Onion soup gratinated with CBD: let’s get to the preparation!
In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Sweat them gently, stirring frequently, until they become translucent and begin to caramelize.
This step may take up to 25 minutes. Patience will be your best ally in achieving that rich and complex flavor that we love so much. To prevent the onions from burning, add a little water or broth if necessary. Slow caramelization reveals the natural sweetness of the onions.
Sprinkle the caramelized onions with flour, stir well to coat, and cook for a few minutes to remove the raw flour taste. Then pour in the hot broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.Incorporate the CBD oil and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes so that the flavors infuse.
Preheat your grill, and place the slices of country bread on a plate to toast them lightly on both sides. Then divide the soup into heat-resistant bowls, add a slice of toasted bread on top of each bowl and sprinkle generously with grated Gruyere cheese.
Place the bowls under the preheated grill and brown until the cheese is melted, bubbling and lightly browned. Watch carefully to prevent the cheese from burning. Serve immediately to fully enjoy the contrast between the melting cheese and the flavorful broth!
