What is C4B, or Cannabinoid for Boost?

Lovers of hedonistic pleasures, who regularly consume good, non-psychotropic CBD, are sometimes tempted by potentially more potent substances of dubious origin. For more experienced users, the fact that the law limits the maximum THC content to less than 0.3% (compared with 1% in Switzerland and the Czech Republic, for example), can pose a problem.

Against this backdrop, a new variant, soberly named C4B (for Cannabinoid for Boost), has arrived on the French market. But what is it really?

CBD: what is C4B, or Cannabinoid for Boost?

The C4B, or “Cannabinoid for Boost”, is a synthetic cannabinoid, developed in the laboratory from natural cannabinoids, produced by the French brand Weecl which claims to want to find a legal alternative to cannabinoids the most powerful like THC, but also and especially HHC, HHCP, and HHCPO. Remember that the last three substances were formally banned by the Ministry of Health in June 2023.

As of this writing, it is simply not clear how the C4B is made. The French brand simply refers to a vague “mixture of cannabinoids”, and does not disclose any details about its formula. If keeping the "recipe" of the product secret is not uncommon in the cannabinoid sector and, more broadly, well-being products, the absence of reliable information on its exact composition does not bode well.

Legally, we remain once again in the gray zone, as with the trio of borderline cannabinoids which ended up being prohibited last summer.

What are the effects of C4B?

The only certainty is that C4B acts on the receptors of the endocannabinoid system, notably the “CB1” and “CB2”, like other cannabinoids. For the effects felt, we must make do with feedback that has reached us from the field.

Consumers report effects very similar to those of HHC, even if the brand claims that C4B does not contain any. We are therefore on relaxing, soothing, pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties, but also a hint of intoxicating effect, or "high".

C4B: does it have side effects?

C4B induces side effects similar to those of HHC (definitely…). These include anxiety, paranoia, dizziness, a feeling of dry mouth and redness in the eyes. Our knowledge of the comprehensive side effects of C4B remains limited at present.

The short answer is “yes”. As C4B is not explicitly on the list of cannabinoids banned by the National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM), it remains legal, but until when? Given its resemblance to the HHC, we think that the C4B will not survive next winter.

For all these reasons, you will not find C4B on our online store, but you will find good 100% traceable and 100% legal CBD to improve your daily well-being, with complete peace of mind!
