What is absinthe?
Absinthe is a spirit made, as its name suggests, from wormwood flowers 🍃. Due to its strength and risks linked to excessive consumption, the manufacture, sale, but also the consumption of absinthe were completely prohibited in France from 1915 to 1988.
Since then, the amount of Thujone allowed is regulated. This main molecule of wormwood essential oil is indeed toxic to the body when ingested in too large quantities. Nowadays, even if the consumption of alcohol must remain reasonable, drinking absinthe no longer represents a health hazard.
How to taste Suicide Classic absinthe?
Absinthe can be drunk pure, although in this case its very strong taste does not suit all palates. It is therefore also possible to dilute it in water 🙌, adding as many doses of water as necessary.
Absinthe can also be drunk the traditional way with a spoon and sugar. If you burn the sugar, you will then add a caramelized note to the whole, which will help to soften the taste.
